Shop Local. Support Local. SBS was designed by American Express in 2010 to support local business and help make local communities stronger. Small Business Saturday will be celebrated on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. This year it is on November 30th, 2019. Get out and visit a small business, in Las Vegas and in the Henderson.

Nevada

Nevada was named as one of the top 20 places to start a business. With the support of Nevada Governor’s Office Of Economic Development many small businesses and start up business are finding Las Vegas and Henderson a great place to open their doors.

Henderson

In 2018 Henderson was named by Money Magazine as one of the best places to live in America. Quality of life, affordability and economic growth were all contributing factors. With the boom of retail, sports, housing, technology and business in the area, we would agree with the reports. Henderson has seen a lot of development in the area ranging from the new Costco shopping center on St. Rose Parkway to the Raiders practice facility and the Vegas Golden Knights community arena in downtown Henderson on Water Street. With Google breaking ground on a new $600 million data center and Amazon opening a second fulfillment center in the area, the economy is strong and big business is putting Henderson on the map. But small business is what has always made Henderson feel like home.

Water Street

Water Street is the main street of Henderson. It’s were business began. It’s downtown. There is a lot of redevelopment happening in Henderson, specifically on Water Street. Water Street is a great place to “shop unique boutiques. Dine in one-of-a-kind restaurants. Play in classic casinos. Be part of incredible special events. And do it all amid a few walk-able downtown blocks of stores and businesses with a little bit of history and a whole lot of enjoyment. It’s not your typical shopping, dining and entertainment experience. But then again, that’s the point.” (1)

Redevelopment on Water Street

“The Redevelopment Agency has been working avidly to create a refined vision for the Water Street District.  The Redevelopment Agency has financial incentives for Henderson businesses to move into and develop the area. The vision creates an authentic downtown core that is welcoming to everyone.  It provides community gathering space, as well as a collection of retail, professional services, family and nightlife entertainment, employment centers, educational opportunities and a place to call home.” (2)

Small Business

SCA Design is a local architectural firm that completes over 200 design projects each year. Certified by Nevada Governor’s office of Economic Development in 2018, SCA Design is a Local Emerging Small Business. This year the team has grown from 10 to 13.  SCA Design is a local Henderson Chamber of Commerce member.  No project is too big or too small for this small business.
